Oh Baby!!!

One of my best friends Cara is finding out Monday if she is having a boy or a girl!! I am so excited for her...I got even more excited when she asked me to help her design their nursery =) So here is round one of ideas.  Her husband Josh is adamant that this baby is a boy (my bet is girl)  and if it is they are wanting to do a sailboat themed nursery.  As soon as I heard this, I was off browsing the web as I normally do.  I'm hoping they will be as excited as I am with the treasures I've found....

This kid will definitely need a sailboat mobile...

I love both these ideas.  Making letters from his name out of an old map and a cute little letterpress to go by its side!

While doing a themed nursery I think it is easy to go a little overboard (no pun intended).  At first I was looking for nautical fabrics but was more fond of some of these...

Joel Dewberry's fabric seemed to add a more modern touch....and who doesn't love Dwell??

Cara and Josh have a Boston terrier so I thought this was only fitting for the little dudes room =) The red is perfect too!

Striped rug from Amazon perfect for in front of the crib

Throw in a few shelves and some baby belly shots and you have yourself a little home for the little man!!!

Love you Cara!!

Oh Baby!!!

There are so many cute nursery ideas out there. I don't know how expecting parents come to settle on choosing certain pieces to put on the walls or the color of fabric to use.  I simply love all of it =) From bold colors to soft and neutral.  Here are a few things that have caught my eye recently.

Completely my style =)

Oh Baby!!!

Sorry for not keeping up on this genre.  It is not the lack of being inspired in this area, trust me!! Lately I've fallen in love with natural wood in nurseries and subtle pops of color, or simply no color at all.  I'm still in love with gray on the walls and I love this little nursery....

I adore the name too  =)

I love the idea of bringing things that you love into the nursery as well....

Like putting some antique vases on a shelf...making the nursery a place for you to enjoy in addition to your bundle of joy. You can buy these bud vases here!!

Here is some of the natural stuff I'm loving...

Today I absolutely had to share my friend Amby's little boys nursery!!! She is due in May and already has this little dudes home ready!!!
Amby and I met about 10 years ago serving at Wildhorse Canyon (a Younglife camp in Oregon). Her and I have made a point to keep in touch over the years, we were in each others weddings and she is one of my dearest friends.  I am beyond excited for her and Toby.

Here is the nursery....

She got the sign from Etsy here =)

The bedding is from Dwell Studio at Target....she did such a great job!! Her and Toby are going to be great parents and I can't wait to meet the little guy in July when I go home =)

Oh Baby!!!

I've never been a big fan of themed nurseries. I'm more excited when I see a room that has a harmony to it using the same colors...but lately I've come across so many sweet elephant things that I'm slowly warming up to a nursery centered around one thing...(if it's done right)

 How sweet are these prints??!!

and these adorable elephants, and yes they have names!!! Essie and Emmet, tooooo cute!!!

Oh Baby!!!

This is one of my all time favorite pictures I've ever taken.  I remember flying home to Oregon to meet my niece for the first time. I had the People magazine with Sandra Bullock and her new little guy on the cover.  I got so inspired by the pictures that I figured I had to take some of my sister and her new little baby Nora hanging out on their bed. I love that I was able to capture this moment of my beautiful sister admiring her sweetie of a daughter =) maybe not as well as the photographer for Sandra Bullock, but I ain't complaining.

I think my goal for December will have to be to knit....because I must learn how to make these!!!! One in Nora's size and one in mine =)
