5 of my faves Tuesdays!!!

What better thing to do on a layover than browse the internet and share some things I'm lovin!!! Yep, getting on a plane again heading home and this time I actually get to go home! Good old Florence Oregon =) I can't even remember the last time we drove the extra three hours from Portland to home and it makes me sad.  Excited to drink coffee down under the Siuslaw Bridge with my parents and watch T.V late at night with my dad, as my mom falls asleep early on the couch.  There is something so comforting about that small town on the coast and opening the door to the house I grew up in. Very excited and I don't think it could come at a better time =) Now, let's get down to business...

5. Loving this fun tote bag by Skinny Laminx =)

Loving all things Herringbone!

Chevron and Herringbone are so similar it's sometimes hard to see the difference....I decided to do a little research and share what I learned =) This would be in reference to the top picture, when it comes to wood flooring the herringbone has all the corners of the planks cut at 90 degrees. A classic chevron pattern is when the shortest edges are cut at an angle, this creates an overall straight line. The angle can be adjusted to make the pattern 'spread' out, or be very 'pointy', which is not something you can adjust with the herringbone pattern.  So which do you prefer?? Chevron or Herringbone??

Long hair how to...

I've been trying to grow out my hair, which seems to be taking forever!! I'm so jealous of the cute styles right now for long hair.  All the lovely buns, knots and braids.  Time to take it into my own hands =) Here's a little long hair how to if you will!!

Excuse the just blown out poof of my hair....

All you need are three or more clips of hair extensions that are your hair color.  Mine are a little lighter to match some highlights I have =)

Step 1: Part your hair about an inch above your ear

Step 2: Clip the hair in, being careful that the clips wont show when your natural hair is laid over.

Step 3: Work your way around adding the other pieces to the back and other side of your head (you can add more clip ins if needed)

Step 4: Taking one chunk of your hair, start rolling it either in a bun or simply making a mess of it =) Do the same with the rest.

Step 5: Pin away and you will end up with a low knotted bun.  Any of your short hair pieces can be tucked in with bobby pins.

So there you have it!! Hopefully this will get me over the awkward humps of growing out short hair and I'll have a little fun as well!

*Thanks to my awesome friend and hairstylist Seventy for lending me some hair for the summer!

5 of my faves Tuesdays!!!

Trying my hardest to get back into blogging full swing...I think I spent most of last week on the couch watching Parks and Rec, eating a whole bag or oreos (my new obsession) and feeling no drive what so ever to do a single thing....Now that that's over it's time to brighten my little butt up and have some Joy!!! Oh Baby!!!

My friend Elizabeth suggested a post on cute baby clothes....I simply couldn't resist! She is pregnant with her second and is the ever so coolest little momma! If you are pregnant, ever want to be, or already have kids you should check out her blog.  She is a chick with loads of raw advice on motherhood and her positivity and truthfulness is so encouraging to read.

Longest blog hiatus EVER!!

Gosh, I SUCK!! We recently had a crazy wedding weekend...three weddings in three days.  I thought at one point I was going to die (that may be a little dramatic). There were days when I thought I would blog, but then didn't because of pure laziness. Then I realized I needed to blog about our trip home. Our second to last trip to Oregon before packing up and saying bye bye to NY.
We had a blast while being home in Oregon for almost two weeks. Along with doing a wedding in Seattle I got to spend quality time with my little nephew Jack and niece Nora, as well as spending a lot of time with Ryan's side of the family and my sis. I've realized two weeks is the way to go when heading home, you actually have time to put your bags down for a day or two in between running around like a crazy person trying to see everyone.

On our way...

Ryan with Jack =)

Little Nora Faye!

Wine tasting in Dundee...yummy!!

One of my highlights of our trip was finding a steal of a deal on this lovely Catherine Holmes bowl while thrifting in McMinnville =)

I also saw Crazy Stupid Love with my sis!! Great movie!

Ry and I were so flattered that Elliot and Allison loved Moetic Wedding Films....they kept wanting to watch more and more of our films =)

To top it all off it was a fun surprise to find out that a friend of mine was in the wedding...nothing better than that =)

Congrats to those of you who made it to the end of this blog post!!! It's been a whirlwind of a summer so far!
