What I will miss most...

10. Our drunken Polish neighbor street man, who smells terrible but always has the nicest things to say to me (when I can understand what he says. Not sure if I will actually miss this but it's definitely unique.)
9. Getting Pizza at 2am
8. Being inspired by what to wear simply walking down the street
7. Sam, our corner store owner who knows me by name and never judges me when I get my 12am ice cream fix
6. Even when snow falls the sun can warm you up.
5. I can get to all my favorite places by walking there.
4. The SHOPPING!!
3. Peter Pan's toasted coconut donuts!!
2. Trying a new restaurant every night of the week if I want.
1. The way my heart skips a beat when I see the skyline cause I can say "I live here".

Crafty...

My mom, sister's and I plan on doing some crafts after Thanksgiving to get into the Holiday season. These are some of my favorites on my list.  I can't wait to actually have the space and time to do some of these!! Just one more week of living out of a box and sleeping on a mattress on the floor (YAY!!!)

Another day as a tourist...

(Brooklyn Bridge, Plymouth Church, Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, Carnegie Deli, Jacques Torres)

Needless to say I could use a few tums and a solid nap! I would highly recommend these places if you come to NYC and Brooklyn!!

Thankful....

I think I shall wear this on Thanksgiving.  It kinda screams "pass the sweet potatoes!!" doesn't it? This was one of my last years Christmas gifts from the hubs and I only wore it a handful of times last season.  Needless to say I'm Thankful this trend is staying strong cause who doesn't love a little bit of fur now and then =)

I'm wearing: Sweater (Forever21), Vest (BB Dakota), Scarf and Jeans (Forever21), Boots (Kohls)

Rocket ships and ferry rides....

Now I am kicking myself for not branching out of our stoop to take pictures!! Hence the rocket ship artwork in the background =) This was also the first time we took the new ferry from Brooklyn to the city and it was the perfect day to do so.  It's always fun having family in town because I get to feel like a tourist all over again while eating constantly....I can justify my two burgers in two days because of all the walking right???

I'm wearing: Sweater (Romwe), Skirt (Thrift), Boots (Steve Madden), Necklace (Forever21)

My life in 25 boxes and counting...

This is what I've been up to.  Starting to feel overwhelmed, excited, and sad all at the same time.  We are approaching 2 weeks until our big move back to the Northwest!! I have so much on my mind that I must have messed up on the date I thought my parents were coming to help (they arrive in an hour and I swore they were scheduled for tomorrow).  It will be a week of Broadway, good food, more packing and hopefully me getting out of my grubby clothes and into something cuter.

A dear, a collared shirt and a wedding...

When ever I wear a collared shirt under a sweater I all of a sudden feel like I belong in a private all girls school.  In this case, a cowgirl, private all girls school.  Lately things have been coming together in my closet that even I don't really understand.  It's all about your confidence when pulling an outfit off.  Never let those words come out of your mouth "I could never pull that off" cause all you have to do is DO IT and then I promise you will inspire yourself to try even more new things =) Maybe I should change this post to "Pep talk Friday".  Have a great weekend!!!

And here's a little treat right off our editing press...enjoy!!

Tis the Season with a homemade haircut...

Not until after I was editing these pictures did I start to feel like Santa's little helper wearing this outfit....and I kinda love it!  I also realized the back of my hair was a complete mess (I spared those photo's for you) which led me to cut my own hair.  So the next photo you see of me I just may have a bag over my head.  Oh the joy of having a bazillion photos taken so you can critique every little part of yourself.

I'm wearing: Top (Thrift), Sweater (Forever21), Jeans (Old Navy), Boots (Kohl's), Necklace (NordstromBP)

Neutrals...

Sorry for such a late post.  I must admit that later posts really work for me.  I tend to be very slow moving in the morning so don't be surprised if this is the first of many 5pm posts. We got SNOW this weekend which I am the least bit excited about.  The one thing I realized about living in New York is that Fall is the best time here and it also seems to be the shortest =( I really wasn't expecting to be here through another winter.  Hoping we are cozy in Oregon before it get's really bad here. We spent most of our afternoon scrambling for Halloween costumes.  I think this has become a tradition for us....that and getting out of bed at 10am =) What are your plans for Halloween???

I'm wearing: Dress, cardigan and belt (Forever21), Tights and Jacket (H&M), Boots (JcPenney), Scarf (gift)

The little poncho that could...

So here's the deal, I'm a complete copycat on this one and I'm not ashamed!! I first saw this lovely poncho on the Daybook and from then on I was on a mission to find it.  I seriously walked from every H&M in Manhattan with the photo loaded on my iPhone.  I felt like a woman who lost her kitten..."Have you scene this? Are you sure? I have a photo " Yes, I went a bit craaazzy hunting for this (especially after walking 40+ blocks) and still having no luck.  The crazy in me turned desperate and I called friends back home, begging for them to join me on this hunt. Enter, my dear friend Amby from Seattle who was up for the challenge and needless to say succeeded with flying colors. All while having a newborn in tow.  I'm the luckiest girl with a pretty poncho all the way from Seattle and a friend I don't deserve =) The things we do for style....or the things I do (I won't lump you into my craaazzy).

I'm wearing: Poncho and T (H&M), leggings (Target), Boots (JcPenney), Watch (NordstromBP), Pearl earrings (Grandma)
