My Husband, My Hero

So, I told you all that Ryan surprised me with a little gift last night. Well, it was the new Instax 210 camera!!! Woop woop!!! I have used my first roll already....and my hubby was sweet enough to get me 10 extra rolls of film...so this chick isn't running out of polaroid anytime soon =)

It's pretty ahhhmaazing and a LOT bigger than what I thought but that allows the pics to be the similar size to the original polaroid photos. They also sell the Instax mini (which is oh so cute) but the photos are quite small. I can't wait to do little albums and crafts with the shots I'm getting and most importantly it will be so fun capturing our time in New York with this little (big) guy.

I think I was able to capture how happy I was!!

The camera also comes with a very handy attachable mirror so you can take self portraits by yourself!!

So here's to hoping this will be the first of many "My Husband, My Hero" posts....I have faith it will be.  Love you Ryan, you continue to spoil and amaze me.

Oh Baby!!!

 

I forgot to mention on my first 'Oh Baby' post the top pic was of me holding my baby niece Olive. Since I have loads of pictures of my little bundles of joy I figure I would post one at the top of each 'Oh Baby' post. This is one of my all time favorites that I got of little Nora...I want to munch on her cheeks so badly!!!!! Get ready for these little beauties I found......

Don't even think about buying this print because I already have a plan for it..hehe.

In-spiration In-progress

 I have been working on my work space since we moved in September and it's still definitely a work in progress, but I'm so excited to finally have space to paint and attempt to finish some sewing projects.  In our previous apartment my "work space" was on our bed which got its own little paint job by the end of our time there.  So having my own corner is a dream here in Brooklyn!!

I have had that little desk since I was a kid...it used to be white, I painted it green and now I want it white again.  I still have a friends phone number written in the top drawer.  I will never part with it.

Isn't this shot EPIC..haha.  I feel like the sewing machine is ALIVE!!! I put six clipboards above my desk for me to add clippings of inspiration or photos that I love.  Check out my friend Britt's blog here for some more ideas she found using clipboards!! So fun and inexpensive!!!

Ryan got me this book last Christmas and it is one of my favorites.  I look at junk in a whole new usable way now.

1. Chalkboard Paint, why I haven't used this in our apartment already is beyond me.....I think I'm waiting for the inspiration of the perfect spot =) and any of those would do for me....

2. These Angelina Jolie inspired earings....I think I NEED them!!!

3. Yes, it is a vintage canning jar Chandelier!!! I think I could figure out how to make one of these...must try!!

 5. Isn't it fantastic!!! My sister-in-law Mo found this for my nieces "big girl bed" and we are working on a shared nursery using this (from Urban Outfitters) as our inspiration....I'm having so much fun with it, post of that will be coming soon for sure. I love decorating nurseries!!!! Do you think Olive (my niece) would mind if her Aunt had the same bedding as her??? Cause I'm in LOVE!!!

Welcome Fall

 

 The fun thing about living in New York is that you really do notice the change of seasons.  Unlike Oregon and the constant rain from October-May, in Brooklyn everything seems to change. The humidity aka hot nastiness finally goes away and it feels like Oregon summer for a few weeks. And now the evenings seem to be getting a bit chillier, really beginning to feel like fall.  Even with my brisk 20 minute walk home from work the wind seemed a bit more chilling than I would have liked.  I'm glad I treated myself to a new chunky scarf at Pema =) for the lovely fall weather we are about to partake in.
